Golf Simulator Trailer vs. Inflatable Golf Simulator: Which Is Right for Your Event?

One of the most common questions we get at Greenies Mobile Golf is:
Should I rent the Mobile Golf Trailer or the Inflatable Golf Simulator?
The answer depends on your event.
Both experiences bring real golf simulator technology directly to your location. Both can run closest-to-the-pin contests, long-drive competitions and open play. And both are fully staffed by Greenies.
But the space requirements, setup, atmosphere and ideal event types are different.
After using both setups at corporate events, schools, festivals, breweries, private parties and other events throughout Greater Cincinnati, we’ve learned where each one works best.
If you’re comparing a golf simulator trailer vs. inflatable golf simulator, here’s what we’d consider before choosing.
Quick Comparison: Trailer vs. Inflatable Golf Simulator
| Mobile Golf Trailer | Inflatable Golf Simulator | |
|---|---|---|
| Best Setting | Primarily outdoor | Indoor or outdoor |
| Approx. Footprint | 22′ L × 22′ W when open | 12′ W × 16′ D × 10′ H |
| Visual Impact | Very high | High |
| Venue Access | Trailer access required | Very flexible |
| Indoor Events | Usually no | Excellent |
| Outdoor Events | Excellent | Good, weather permitting |
| Weather Protection | Better | More weather dependent |
| Corporate Events | Excellent | Excellent |
| Schools | Great outdoors | Excellent indoors or outdoors |
| Festivals | Excellent | Excellent depending on location |
| Private Parties | Great with sufficient access | Excellent |
| Starting Rental | $600 | $750 |
The easiest way to think about it is:
The trailer is the showpiece. The inflatable is the flexibility play.
But there are plenty of situations where one clearly makes more sense than the other.
What Is the Greenies Mobile Golf Trailer?

Our Mobile Golf Trailer is a purpose-built event experience that brings a golf simulator directly to outdoor events.
When opened for play, the trailer creates a large entertainment area where guests can hit golf shots, watch others compete and gather around the experience.
The trailer itself becomes part of the attraction.
We’ve used it at golf outings, corporate events, festivals, private parties and other large outdoor gatherings where visibility matters.
The trailer is usually our recommendation when:
- Your event is outdoors
- You have sufficient vehicle access
- You want maximum visual impact
- You’re expecting a larger crowd
- You want people gathering around the simulator
- Weather protection is important
- You have adequate level space
For the right event, there’s really nothing subtle about it.
People see the trailer and want to know what’s happening.
What Is the Greenies Inflatable Golf Simulator?

Our Inflatable Golf Simulator gives us a completely different type of flexibility.
Instead of requiring trailer access, the simulator is built inside a 12-foot-wide by 16-foot-deep inflatable enclosure requiring approximately 10 feet of height.
That allows us to bring the experience into spaces the trailer simply can’t reach.
We’ve set it up in places such as gyms, breweries and indoor event spaces, while also using it outdoors when conditions allow.
The inflatable is usually our recommendation when:
- Your event is indoors
- Trailer access isn’t available
- You’re using a gym, brewery, office or event hall
- You have a more confined event footprint
- You want flexibility in simulator placement
- You still want the visual impact of a large interactive attraction
The inflatable opened an entirely new category of events for us because we’re no longer limited by where we can physically bring a trailer.
Which Option Is Better for an Indoor Event?
The Inflatable Golf Simulator.
This is one of the easiest decisions.
If you’re planning an event inside a school gym, brewery, office, event center or similar venue, the inflatable is usually the better choice.
The biggest requirement is space.
You’ll need approximately:
12 feet wide × 16 feet deep × 10 feet high
We also need enough room around the simulator for guests to safely enter, exit and gather.
Ceiling height is especially important. A room may look large enough until someone tries to swing a driver.
If you’re unsure, send us measurements and photos of the space. We can usually tell pretty quickly whether it’ll work.
Which Option Is Better for an Outdoor Event?
Usually, the Mobile Golf Trailer.
The trailer was built specifically for outdoor events and gives you a larger, more substantial attraction.
It’s particularly well suited for:
- Golf outings
- Corporate picnics
- Customer appreciation events
- Festivals
- Tailgates
- Community events
- Large private parties
The inflatable can absolutely work outside too, but weather becomes a bigger factor.
For an outdoor event where both setups are possible, we’d generally lean toward the trailer unless there’s another reason the inflatable makes more sense.
Which Handles Weather Better?
The Mobile Golf Trailer has the advantage here.
The trailer provides more built-in protection from the elements and is generally our preferred setup when weather could become a factor.
That doesn’t mean the trailer makes an event weatherproof.
Severe storms, lightning, strong winds or other unsafe conditions can still affect any outdoor event.
The inflatable is more dependent on appropriate weather conditions, particularly wind.
For events where weather is a major concern, having an indoor backup plan is always worth discussing.
Which Has the Bigger “Wow” Factor?
The trailer.
And that’s intentional.

When Greenies pulls into an event and opens the Mobile Golf Trailer, it creates a substantial physical presence.
That can be especially valuable at:
- Corporate activations
- Large festivals
- Golf outings
- Customer events
- Sponsor activations
People can see what’s happening from across the event.
But don’t underestimate the inflatable.
A 12′ × 16′ golf simulator sitting inside a gym, brewery or event space gets plenty of attention too.
The difference is that the trailer feels like a mobile venue, while the inflatable feels like a large interactive attraction inside your venue.
Which Is Better for Corporate Events?
This one is a tie.
It depends entirely on the event.
For an outdoor company picnic or customer appreciation event with plenty of space, we’d probably recommend the trailer.
For an indoor holiday party, employee event, conference or company gathering, the inflatable may be the obvious choice.
Both can run:
- Closest-to-the-pin competitions
- Long-drive contests
- Employee vs. employee challenges
- Department competitions
- Customer vs. employee challenges
- Beat-the-Boss contests
- Open play
For corporate events, we’d choose based more on the venue and event goals than the golf experience itself.
Which Is Better for Schools and Colleges?
Again, location usually decides this one.
For an outdoor campus event, festival or tailgate, the trailer can create an awesome centerpiece.
For indoor events—especially in school gyms—the inflatable is extremely useful.
We’ve found that school events work particularly well with simple competitions because students don’t need golf experience to participate.
A closest-to-the-pin contest takes a few minutes to understand and quickly turns into students challenging friends and comparing scores.
If you’re planning Welcome Week, orientation, a student activity event or school celebration, think first about where you want the activity located.
That usually tells us which simulator makes sense.
Which Is Better for a Backyard Party?
This depends heavily on access.
If we can safely get the Mobile Golf Trailer into position and there’s enough level space, the trailer can make for a pretty incredible backyard event.
But many homes simply don’t have the access or footprint necessary.
That’s where the inflatable becomes extremely useful.
It can be brought into spaces that aren’t accessible by a vehicle and gives us considerably more flexibility in positioning the simulator.
If you’re considering Greenies for a private party, send us a few photos of the property.
We’ll help determine what’s realistic.
Which Is Better for a Golf Outing?
Usually the trailer.

Golf outings are one of the most natural environments for the Mobile Golf Trailer.
It can be positioned near:
- The clubhouse
- Registration
- A practice area
- A sponsor activation
- The turn
- Post-round festivities
You can use it for a closest-to-the-pin competition, Beat the Green challenge, sponsor activation or entertainment while golfers arrive and finish their rounds.
The trailer’s visibility also gives sponsors an opportunity to create a memorable activation rather than simply putting another sign on the course.
What About Guests Who Don’t Golf?
This doesn’t change our recommendation between the trailer and inflatable.
Neither experience requires guests to be golfers.
That’s one of the biggest misconceptions about mobile golf simulator events.
For general events, we rarely need people playing full virtual rounds.
Instead, we create quick competitions anyone can understand.
Give someone three shots at a par-3 and suddenly the question isn’t:
“Do you golf?”
It’s:
“Can you beat 8 feet, 4 inches?”
That’s a much more inclusive event experience.
Is the Golf Experience Different?
There are some differences in the technology and physical setup, but from an event planner’s perspective, both are designed around the same goal:
Get guests participating.
Both experiences can offer virtual golf, contests and interactive challenges.
We can help structure gameplay based on:
- Number of guests
- Length of event
- Skill level
- Event type
- Whether you want casual play or a competition
The best format for 25 people at a birthday party isn’t necessarily the best format for hundreds of people at a festival.
That’s something we help determine before the event.
What Does Each Option Cost?
Greenies’ current standard pricing is:
Mobile Golf Trailer
$300/hour with a 2-hour minimum
Starting at $600.
Inflatable Golf Simulator
$250/hour with a 3-hour minimum
Starting at $750.
Travel charges may apply for events outside our standard service area.
For a deeper explanation of pricing, what’s included and what can affect the final rental cost, we’ve put together a separate Golf Simulator Rental Cost Cincinnati guide.
When comparing the two experiences, don’t choose based solely on the hourly rate.
Choose the setup that makes the most sense for your venue.
What’s Included With Either Greenies Experience?
Both Greenies experiences are designed to be turnkey.

Depending on your event, that can include:
- Golf simulator technology
- Golf clubs
- Hitting equipment
- Simulator software
- Delivery
- Setup
- Teardown
- On-site Greenies staff
- Guest assistance
- Contest management
- Leaderboards and competitions
You’re not renting equipment and figuring out what to do with it.
We’re there to run the experience.
So…Trailer or Inflatable?
Here’s our simplest recommendation.
Choose the Mobile Golf Trailer if:
You have an outdoor event, sufficient access and space, and want the biggest possible Greenies presence.
Choose the Inflatable Golf Simulator if:
You’re indoors, have limited vehicle access, or need greater flexibility in where the simulator can be positioned.
And if you’re still not sure?
Don’t worry about choosing.
Tell us about your event.
We’d rather recommend the setup that works best than have you try to figure it out yourself.
After doing events at all kinds of venues throughout Greater Cincinnati, we’ve gotten pretty good at looking at a location, crowd and event plan and knowing which Greenies experience makes the most sense.
