Mobile Golf Simulator Rental in Cincinnati: Everything You Need to Know

Mobile Golf Simulator Rental: Everything You Need to Know Before Booking

You’ve seen golf simulators at indoor golf facilities. But what if the entire experience could come directly to your event?

That’s exactly what a mobile golf simulator rental does.

Instead of asking your guests to travel to an indoor golf facility, a mobile setup brings the technology, screen, clubs, games, competitions, and staff directly to your venue.

We’ve brought mobile golf experiences to corporate events, schools, breweries, festivals, golf outings, private parties, fundraisers, and other events throughout Greater Cincinnati. And we’ve learned that most people considering a rental have many of the same questions.

How much space do I need? Can it go indoors? What if it rains? Do my guests need to golf? How many people can participate? And what exactly am I renting?

Here’s everything you should know before booking a mobile golf simulator for your event.

What Is a Mobile Golf Simulator?

A mobile golf simulator is a portable version of the technology you’d find inside a modern indoor golf facility.

Players hit real golf balls while a launch monitor measures the shot and simulator software displays the result on a virtual golf course.

The difference is that everything comes to you.

Depending on the setup, a mobile simulator can be installed inside an inflatable enclosure, incorporated into a purpose-built trailer, or assembled inside an event venue.

At Greenies Mobile Golf, we offer two different experiences: a Mobile Golf Trailer and an Inflatable Golf Simulator.

That gives us the flexibility to accommodate everything from a large outdoor corporate event to an indoor school gym or brewery.

How Does a Mobile Golf Simulator Rental Work?

One of the biggest misconceptions is that you’re simply renting golf equipment.

A full-service mobile golf simulator should be much closer to hiring an event attraction.

For a typical Greenies event, we arrive before your scheduled start time, set everything up, test the simulator, and have it ready when your guests arrive.

During the event, our staff operates the simulator, helps guests, manages gameplay and can organize competitions.

When the event is finished, we handle teardown and removal.

Your event staff shouldn’t need to learn how to operate a launch monitor or troubleshoot simulator software.

You bring the guests.

We bring the golf.

What Types of Events Work Well With a Mobile Golf Simulator?

One of our favorite things about mobile golf is how differently it can be used depending on the event.

We’ve found it works particularly well for:

  • Corporate events
  • Employee appreciation events
  • Customer appreciation events
  • Company family days
  • Charity golf outings
  • Fundraisers
  • Weddings
  • Birthday and graduation parties
  • School and college events
  • Festivals
  • Brewery events
  • Tailgates
  • Trade shows
  • Community events

The experience doesn’t have to be the entire event, either.

At some events, golf is the main attraction. At others, it’s one activity among food trucks, music, drinks, games and other entertainment.

Both formats work.

Do Guests Need to Know How to Golf?

No.

This is probably one of the most important things for an event planner to understand.

You don’t need an event full of golfers for a mobile golf simulator to work.

In fact, some of the most entertaining moments we’ve seen come from people who rarely—or never—play golf.

The key is choosing the right format.

Instead of asking everyone to play 18 holes, an event can use a simple closest-to-the-pin competition.

One person steps up.

They get a few shots.

A distance appears on the screen.

The next person tries to beat it.

Within a few minutes, people understand the game and start challenging each other.

Experienced golfers still want to win, while beginners can participate without feeling like they need to know how to play golf.

That’s what makes the experience work for mixed crowds.

What Games Can You Play?

A mobile golf simulator can offer much more than simply playing a virtual round.

For events, we often recommend formats that are quick and easy for guests to understand.

Popular options include:

Closest to the Pin

Players hit toward a virtual par-3(opens in new tab) and compete to see who can finish closest to the hole.

This is one of our favorites for events because it’s fast, competitive and accessible to beginners.

Longest Drive

Perfect for groups that want to see who can really hit it.

Beat the Boss

Great for corporate events. Employees or customers compete against an executive, owner or manager.

Team Competitions

Divide departments, families, schools or groups of friends into teams and keep score throughout the event.

Open Play

Guests can simply step up and experience the simulator without a formal competition.

For longer events, combining open play with a leaderboard can work especially well.

How Much Space Does a Mobile Golf Simulator Need?

This depends heavily on the type of simulator you rent.

For Greenies, our Inflatable Golf Simulator requires approximately 12 feet of width, 16 feet of depth and 10 feet of height. It’s particularly useful for gyms, breweries, offices, halls and other indoor spaces.

Our Mobile Golf Trailer requires a larger, level area of approximately 22 feet long by 16 feet wide when operating, along with enough access to safely position the trailer.

Greenies Trailer Size

Ceiling height and swing clearance are especially important for indoor events.

If you’re unsure whether your venue works, don’t guess. Send the rental company photos and measurements ahead of time.

We’ve helped plenty of customers determine which Greenies setup makes the most sense simply by looking at their venue and event layout.

Trailer or Inflatable: Which Should You Choose?

This is one of the most common questions we receive.

And there isn’t one answer that’s right for every event.

Choose a Mobile Golf  Trailer When:

  • You’re hosting a larger outdoor event
  • You want the simulator to have a major visual presence
  • You have sufficient vehicle and setup access
  • You’re hosting a golf outing, festival or corporate activation
  • Weather protection is particularly important

The trailer becomes almost a venue within the event. People see it, gather around it and come back throughout the day.

Choose an Inflatable Golf Simulator When:

  • Your event is indoors
  • Trailer access isn’t possible
  • You’re working with a tighter footprint
  • You’re using a gym, brewery, office or event hall
  • You want more flexibility in where the simulator can be positioned

Greenies’ inflatable was specifically designed as a more compact, indoor-friendly option, while the trailer provides the larger outdoor showpiece experience.

Neither is automatically “better.”

The right one depends on your venue and event.

Can a Mobile Golf Simulator Be Used Indoors?

Absolutely.

In fact, indoor events are one of the reasons an inflatable simulator can be so useful.

We’ve designed our inflatable experience for spaces such as:

  • School gyms
  • Breweries
  • Offices
  • Event halls
  • Community centers
  • Indoor event venues

The important considerations are ceiling height, overall footprint, electrical access and sufficient room for guests to swing safely.

Always confirm your venue dimensions before booking.

Can You Use a Golf Simulator Outside?

Yes.

Outdoor events are one of the strongest applications for mobile golf.

Parking lots, golf courses, driveways, company campuses and festival grounds can all potentially accommodate a mobile simulator.

However, outdoor events introduce additional considerations:

  • Level ground
  • Trailer or equipment access
  • Electrical availability
  • Wind
  • Rain
  • Temperature
  • Guest flow

That’s another reason it’s worth talking through the event location before choosing a setup.

What Happens If It Rains?

Ask this question before booking any outdoor event entertainment.

Different simulator setups provide different levels of weather protection.

Greenies’ Mobile Golf Trailer provides a covered experience and is particularly well suited to outdoor events where changing weather may be a consideration.

Weather conditions can still affect any outdoor event, particularly during severe weather, high winds or unsafe conditions.

For events where weather is a major concern, we recommend discussing backup plans and venue options ahead of time.

Do You Need Electricity?

Most golf simulator setups require power for computers, displays, launch monitors, projectors and other equipment.

Greenies typically need access to a standard electrical hookup. When power isn’t available at the event location, alternative power arrangements may be possible depending on the setup.

This is another detail worth confirming during the planning process rather than discovering it on event day.

Do You Need Internet?

This depends on the simulator equipment, software and type of experience being provided.

Some event setups can operate primarily through locally installed software, while certain features or services may require an internet connection.

If your event is somewhere with limited Wi-Fi—such as a golf course, festival field or large outdoor property—tell your provider ahead of time.

Internet access shouldn’t be something you’re trying to figure out 20 minutes before guests arrive.

Are Golf Clubs Provided?

They should be if you’re creating an event experience for a general audience.

Greenies can provide clubs for guests, including options that make the experience accessible to different ages and skill levels. Guests who prefer their own clubs can also bring them.

For corporate events, weddings and festivals, providing clubs removes another barrier to participation.

Someone should be able to walk over, grab a club and take a swing.

How Many People Can Participate?

This depends more on how you structure the game than how many people technically fit on the simulator.

For event settings, Greenies can rotate up to four players through a game, while larger crowds take turns throughout the event.

But if you have 150 guests, you probably don’t want groups playing full 18-hole rounds.

That’s where short competitions become important.

Closest-to-the-pin and long-drive contests allow guests to cycle through quickly while keeping the experience interesting for the people watching.

When planning your event, tell your simulator provider approximately how many guests you’re expecting. They can help recommend a format that keeps things moving.

How Long Does Setup Take?

Greenies typically allows approximately 30–45 minutes for setup, depending on the experience and event conditions.

But from an event planner’s perspective, the more important question is:

Who is responsible for setup?

For a fully staffed experience, the answer should be the simulator company.

Your event team already has enough to worry about.

How Much Does a Mobile Golf Simulator Rental Cost?

Pricing varies depending on the simulator, event duration, location, staffing and overall experience.

Rather than duplicate the entire answer here, we’ve created a separate guide specifically covering golf simulator rental costs in Cincinnati, including typical price ranges and the factors that affect pricing.

Read our complete Golf Simulator Rental Cost Cincinnati guide →

Greenies packages currently start at $600 depending on the setup.

When comparing prices, pay attention to what’s actually included.

A fully staffed, turnkey event experience isn’t the same product as equipment being dropped off at your venue.

What Should Be Included With a Mobile Golf Simulator Rental?

Before booking, ask exactly what your rental includes.

A professional event experience may include:

  • Simulator and launch monitor
  • Hitting enclosure or trailer
  • Screen/display
  • Golf simulator software
  • Hitting mat
  • Golf clubs
  • Delivery
  • Setup
  • Teardown
  • On-site staffing
  • Technical support
  • Contest management
  • Leaderboards or scoring

Greenies rentals are designed as fully staffed experiences, with our team managing setup, gameplay and breakdown.

That’s an important distinction when comparing quotes.

How Far in Advance Should You Book?

For popular dates, earlier is better.

Corporate event seasons, fall weekends, graduation season and other high-demand periods can fill quickly.

Greenies generally recommends booking at least four to six weeks in advance, especially for weekends and peak corporate event periods.

That doesn’t mean a last-minute event is impossible.

If your event is approaching, it’s still worth checking availability.

What Should You Tell the Rental Company Before Booking?

The more information you provide, the easier it is to recommend the right setup.

Before requesting a quote, try to know:

  • Event date
  • Event location
  • Indoor or outdoor
  • Estimated guest count
  • Event start and end time
  • Available space
  • Access to electricity
  • Type of venue
  • Whether you want open play or a competition
  • Any branding or sponsor requirements

Photos of the proposed setup location can also be extremely helpful.

You don’t need to have every detail figured out.

A good event provider should help with the rest.

Is a Mobile Golf Simulator Worth It for an Event?

  • It depends on what you’re trying to accomplish.
  • If you simply need something playing in the background, there are less expensive forms of entertainment.
  • But if you want an activity that gets guests participating, competing, laughing and gathering in one area, a mobile golf simulator offers something different.
  • That’s what we’ve noticed repeatedly at Greenies events.
  • The golf gets people’s attention.
  • The competition is what keeps them engaged.
  • And because the experience works for golfers and complete beginners, it can fit a much broader audience than many event planners initially expect.
